Another indie title is coming to Wii U courtesy of Delve Interactive. Poncho, defined as something of a pixel-based puzzle platformer, takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where robots– humanity’s last creation– are left to fend for themselves and forge a new identity apart from their old masters. Emphasizing exploration and implied plot-driven branching paths, Poncho establishes itself as an open-world game full of mystery.
It should be noted that Poncho was subject to a failed Kickstarter campaign last year, but was recently rescued through the publishing benevolence of Rising Star Games (Rune Factory, Little King’s Story). Having been in development for three years, it seems it’ll be ready for release later this year.
As seen in the trailer above, Poncho creatively blends 2D platforming action with 3D parallax scrolling. Are you excited for Poncho‘s goal to blend open-world gameplay in a 2D-based realm? Let us know in the comments!
