Pokémon X and Y Sell Over Four Million Copies Worldwide

The newest entries in the Pokémon series sell exceptionally well in just two days.

The amount of excitement for the release of Pokémon X and Y has been through the roof since they were announced, collectively breaking pre-order records in Japan. However, this isn’t the only record these games were set to break, as the newest Pokémon entries have just become the fastest selling 3DS games of all time.

Nintendo has stated that the sales of Pokémon X and Y have surpassed four million copies worldwide, creating a new milestone for 3DS sales. To give you an idea of how impressive these figures are, Pokémon X and Y are currently exceeding the sales of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 by a whopping 70 percent. These games make it clear that Pokémon is still going strong after about two decades of success. As the sales of the games increase, it will be interesting to see if they become the highest selling Pokémon games of all time.
