When Pokémon Shuffle debuted on Nintendo 3DS, it marked a pivotal moment for Nintendo. The title was the first game published by the company to incorporate the much-maligned feature of micro-transactions. Today, Nintendo announced that the title is heading to iOS and Android devices, where those kinds of transactions are all too common. We’ve mirrored the game’s trailer below!
Naturally, it appears that the game has been formatted to make better use of the mobile game format. Like the 3DS version, Pokémon Shuffle will be available as a free download. The title has been downloaded more than 4.5 million times on Nintendo 3DS, though it’s hard to discern just how much Nintendo has profited on the game thus far. Unless the company divulges how many of those players are spending their hard-earned cash on in-game purchases, we’ll simply have to speculate.
