Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have already given 3DS owners a chance to revisit the Hoenn region, but Wii U owners in Europe are getting an opportunity of their own to snag Pokémon like Torchic, Treecko, and Mudkip. There’s a catch, of course. Those Wii U owners will have to flip, bump, and tilt to catch ’em all when Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire arrives on the Virtual Console later this week!
Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire made its debut on the Game Boy Advance in 2003. The title is a follow-up to the original Pokémon Pinball, which has yet to appear on either Virtual Console service. While the title takes inspiration from the traditional arcade staple, it also eschews the constraints of classic pinball tables and places the game in a fantasy setting. As a result, Pokémon actually appear on the board, allowing players to attempt to capture all 200 of the Hoenn region’s pocket monsters across two tables and a number of bonus stages.
Pokémon Pinball: Ruby and Sapphire will be available this Thursday for €6.99/£6.79. Stay tuned to Nintendojo where we’ll have more information on the game’s North American release in the near future!
