Nintendo has announced the online title Pac-Man 99 will be shutting down October 8, 2023. This does only apply to the online aspect so you will still be able to play the game in offline mode.
The news was released via Nintendo’s Twitter where it states, “The online service for Nintendo Switch Online subscriber-only software “PAC-MAN 99″ will end on Sunday, October 8, 2023. You can continue to enjoy the offline mode of paid additional content even after the online service ends.”

If you visit Bandai Namco’s official Pac-Man website, they go into a bit more detail about the shutdown process. October 8th is when they plan to discontinue online services and distribution of the game; preceding this, paid custom themes along with the Deluxe Pack and Mode Unlocks will end. If you are interested, be sure to snag the game and any DLCs you want before it’s too late!

Pac-Man 99 was released in 2021, following the release of Tetris 99 and the now discontinued Super Mario Bros. 35. Since it was launched, the game has gotten more than 9 million downloads.
