Welcome to our look at this week’s releases in Now Playing! Luckily for all the Wii owners out there, Nintendo is letting us take a break from last week’s non-stop partying with games such as The Smurfs: Dance Party and Just Dance Summer Party by not releasing any games for the Wii at all this week! But if you aren’t one for partying and still got some game left in you, here is a list of all the games coming out this week to a Nintendo console near you.

Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions mixes together the new and the still-kinda-new, with the new consisting of a brand new Pac-Man game (Pac-Man Tilt) and a brand new Galaga game (Galaga 3D) in, you guessed it, 3D. Pac-Man Tilt turns our beloved Pac-Man into a pinball of sorts, which makes rolling his only way of navigation. The player must roll Pac-Man through different puzzles by using the 3DS’ built-in accelerometer. Galaga 3D brings the classic arcade action we all loved in the original Galaga, but puts the player in the perspective of the ship. Movements are controlled by the the 3DS’ gyroscopic technology; putting you closer to the game than ever before! The still-kinda-new consists of the 3DS re-release of Galaga Legions and Pac-Man Championship Edition.
Match 3 Madness for the Nintendo DS borrows the match-three gameplay styles from classics such as Bust-A-Move, and Bejeweled. The games all intelligently intertwine into a story about building your very own holiday park on a tropic island. Novel.
DSiWare takes two beloved mythical creatures this week, and combines one of them with a fitting activity, one being Kung Fu Dragon and the other Trollboarder. Antipole, the gravity shifting platformer, also got released today. WiiWare will be getting an iPhone port of Bobby Carrot Forever, an adventure that takes Bobby Carrot through six different worlds (all contained inside his “dreamworld”) and seventy-two different levels in the quest to find the six golden carrots! Is the number six sacred to bunnies?
Besides DSiWare, the eShop gets updated today with another 3D Classic, 3D Classics Xevious. Nintendo also announced Nintendo Video, a new, free service that delivers short 2D or 3D videos from the worlds of music, comedy, animation and Hollywood. Will you be trying out Nintendo Video when it’s released? Let us know in the comments!
Hey, Nintendo! Where is my Virtual Console? FAIL!!!1
hbomb, I’d hate to say it……..but right now the 3DS is a fail.
We’ve been begging for more 3D downloads since the eShop launch, and now that we got one (ONE) no VC? What, they can’t do both at the same time? They are starting to stream 3D video now, I will give them that…
