Not only did Nintendo drop the surprise announcement during this week’s Nintendo Direct that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword would be seeing a Wii U eShop release, but Axiom Verge has made its Wii U debut and the StreetPass Mii Plaza is getting some new games! Let’s delve into the latest in Nintendo downloads.

Wii U eShop

Axiom Verge – $19.99 – The Wii U version of the Metroidvania indie title Axiom Verge is now available to download. Play as Trace, a scientist who, after suffering a crippling injury, wakes up in an ancient and high-tech world, and has over 60 items and power-ups at this disposal. Not one to miss!

Wii U Virtual Console

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword – $19.99 – You can now also download the modern classic, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, originally released on Wii in 2011. With a beautiful art style and an engrossing, lengthy story, this will help you kill some time between now and the release of Breath of the Wild.

3DS eShop

There’s a new DLC pack available for Hyrule Warriors Legends that features elements from The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and gives you Toon Zelda as a new playable character. A season pass is also downloadable, which will give you access to all of the previous DLC packs and to new content as it is released. Check out the trailer for the latest DLC pack here!

New games have arrived in the StreetPass Mii Plaza! Slot-Car Rivals, Ninja Launcher, Market Crashers, Feed Mii, and Mii Trek are here to breathe some fresh air into Plaza, and after performing a quick StreetPass Mii Plaza software update you can download either Slot-Car Rivals or Market Crashers for free, and then purchase the remaining new games for $2.99 each or as a bundle for $8.99.

These are just some examples of the new content available for download this week, so check out the Wii U and 3DS eShops for more! Do you see anything here that you’ll be downloading? Let us know in the comments!
