Prepare your wallets, folks: Nintendo Switch has arrived with some great downloadable content, including the first six games for its iteration of Virtual Console! What may they be? See for yourself below.
Switch Download
Blaster Master Zero — $9.99 — Also releasing for 3DS, this 8-bit throwback to the ’80s classic Blaster Master for NES alternates between top-down perspective and side-scrolling action. Blaster Master Zero improves upon the original via new subweapons, a revised scenario and expanded exploration mechanics. This release also comes included with HD Rumble and 2-Player support.
Neo Geo Virtual Console — $7.99 each — The Neo Geo has the distinction of being the first legacy console for Switch’s Virtual Console service! Six games from the 1990 console have arrived today, including The King of Fighters ’98, Waku Waku 7, Metal Slug 3, World Hero Perfect, NAM-1975, and Shock Troopers. What’s particularly interesting is that Waku Waku 7, a 1996 cult-hit fighting game, has never been re-released until today, so now new players can finally enjoy the game’s wacky cast!
Wii U Virtual Console
Bomberman 64 — Finally, the 1997 classic arrives to Virtual Console! Bomberman’s debut into 3D introduced an adventurous campaign, customized outfits, and addictive multiplayer that broke free of the series’ “maze” concept. While N64’s Bomberman Hero had previously arrived for Wii’s Virtual Console, this is a nice surprise for Bomberman 64’s 20th anniversary!
