North America’s long wait for the hugely successful Yo-Kai Watch franchise comes to an end this week on November 6. To celebrate, Nintendo will be hosting a special event at the Nintendo World store in New York City featuring plenty of activities and guests to make it worth your while.
The event will last from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and will give gamers the chance to try out the game, check out the upcoming toy line, and even hang out with the franchise’s mascot, Jibanyan, or at least a person dressed up in a Jibanyan suit. Furthermore, attendees will also have the opportunity to learn the Yo-Kai dance, which is so popular that it actually inspired a Just Dance spin-off in Japan.
The first 75 fans to show up will something extra special: an opportunity to meet the man behind the Yo-Kai craze, Level-5 founder and President/CEO, Akihiro Hino. The acclaimed developer will be at the event from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Those of you who won’t be able to attend can at least take a few moments to celebrate now because Nintendo has released a new commercial, featuring what has to be the best Yo-Kai of them all: Cheeksqueek, a literal butt-head.
