Captain Toad has had an interesting journey. His adventures started as a side activity in Super Mario 3D World for Wii U before getting his own spin-off game in the form of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, originally for Wii U before getting expanded ports with extra courses for Switch and 3DS. The Switch version also recently received multiplayer while DLC is on the way for even more isometric puzzle-platformer action.
While we don’t know what’s next for this surprisingly successful side-series, Nintendo recently released some of the concept art for the game, and it has a surprisingly strong sense of atmosphere and adventure considering the relatively simple and cartoony nature of the game and it’s visuals.
