Next month, Nintendo and Level-5 will release Yo-Kai Watch on 3DS. Nintendo of America announced today that the much-anticipated release is also going to be accompanied by a 2DS hardware bundle, giving parents a strong option this holiday season for kids that don’t yet own a system to play the title on. The bundle, which we’ve mirrored below, will retail for $99.99.
Unfortunately, the included 2DS unit, which will have the title pre-installed, does not appear to have any Yo-Kai Watch-specific designs. This is the same 2DS unit that’s been available in stores for some time. Still, this release is a bit telling. It certainly shows that Nintendo is focused on pushing Yo-Kai Watch to kids this holiday season. In Japan, the game has been met with a level of enthusiasm similar to Pokémon, and Nintendo and Level-5 clearly hope to emulate that success throughout North America and Europe. Bundling the software with the 2DS (rather than the more expensive 3DS) might just help the game arrive in more homes this holiday season.
The Yo-Kai Watch 2DS bundle is expected on store shelves November 6.
