Indie games are great in that they can deliver so many unique types of experiences that larger developers are more reluctant to experiment with. Cast in point: I Am Dead. Developed by Hollow Ponds and Richard Hogg, I Am Dead is a fascinating mystery set on the island of Shelmerston. Check out the debut trailer to get a feel for the game and its unique art style:
In I Am Dead, museum curator Morris Lupton has recently died and, in the afterlife, reunites with his deceased dog Sparky. The spectral pair must set out to discover how to stop the eruption of a volcano that is threatening to wipe out Shelmerston. In order to do this, Lupton will utilize his newfound ability to look into people and objects in order to reveal their secrets. Here’s a little more about the game:
Along the way you will discover many stories about the history and folklore of Shelmerston, and its cast of curious inhabitants and visitors: tourist finches, the fishfolk, morlos, and the Legend of Aggi – the one who originally silenced the volcano…
The game launches this summer. Will you be downloading I Am Dead? Tell us in the comments and on social media!
