It felt inevitable that Nintendo Switch Sports had to be followed up with a new take on Wii Sports Resort, right? Well, someone at Nintendo agrees, if no one else, because Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year. You can see the game and its myriad sports and activities in the trailer, below:
So, what can you do on this latest iteration of Wuhu Island? Besides warming up by jumping rope, here are the 12 activities Nintendo has announced:
- Boxing
- Table Tennis
- Archery
- Tennis
- Volleyball
- Bowling
- Basketball
- Golf
- Thumb Wrestling
- Skateboarding (using Joy-Con 2 mouse controls)
- Power Cruising
- Prop Plane
Now, when we said the game comes out later this year, perhaps you, like this writer, envisioned teeing it up during the warm summer months. Nothing says jet skis and gliding, to say nothing of a tropical resort, quite like summer vacation, eh? Well, that’s decidedly not the case for Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, as the game will be launching October 22, 2026. As Nintendo likes to put it, please wait a little longer this one.
