Penny’s Big Breakaway was announced back during the June 2023 Nintendo Direct broadcast. At the time, it wasn’t clear when the game would be launching beyond a nebulous “early 2024” release window. During today’s Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase a more definitive date was nailed down: today! Here’s the launch trailer:
Developed by Christan Whitehead and Evening Star, Penny’s Big Breakaway is an all-new 3D platformer.You star as Penny who, joined with her partner Yo-Yo, must outwit the Emperor’s evil endless penguin army. Yo-Yo let’s Penny do all sorts of different things like improve her movement speed, avoid harm, and more. Along with the base game there’s a Time Attack mode and tons of extras and secrets to discover. If you’re a fan of fun, energetic platformers, this game might be for you.
