Pikmin 4 is soon to release on Nintendo Switch, with its July 21 launch date right around the corner. Nintendo continues to build up hype for the game, showing off a new trailer for the game during the recent Nintendo Direct broadcast. Let us observe:

The new trailer shows off a lot more of the world that the fresh-faced Rescue Squad recruit and her Pikmin allies will be exploring. What’s more, there are (as is often the case in this series) new Pikmin to look forward to interacting with. In this case, players will be able to venture out at night and utilize the help of special Glow Pikmin. Friendly pup Oatchi is also set to expand the player’s suite of actions this time around with the ability to float, bash obstacles, and more.

Here’s a bit more on Pikmin 4 from Nintendo:

New to the series? Don’t worry – this is a great entry point for anyone that wants to learn more about Pikmin. Collect treasures around the planet to fix the Rescue Corp’s spaceship’s radar and open new areas to explore, including underground caves, where a completely different environment from the surface awaits. Pikmin 4 also features Dandori Battles – try to collect more objects than your opponent within the time limit to win and save the castaway. Plus, for the first time in the Pikmin series, you can eventually set out for night expeditions. But nightfall sends creatures into a frenzy, so stay alert.

Recall that this time around players will also be able to customize the main character to their liking. A demo for Pikmin 4 will hit the Nintendo Switch eShop come June 28, so if you’d like to sample the action before launch, be ready to hit “download.” Are you excited for Pikmin 4?
