Gamers the world over might be eagerly anticipating the eventual announcement of Nintendo’s next console, NX, but the company still has current hardware that needs attention, too. Nintendo is set to remind the world of this fact with a new Nintendo Direct, the first in quite a while, later this week.
The event is scheduled for this Thursday, September 1 at 10 AM EST and little has been said about it other than it will focus on 3DS and will not contain any NX news. The handheld has quite a few big titles planned for the coming months leading up to the holidays including Yo-Kai Watch 2, the Dragon Quest VII remake, Mario Party: Star Rush, and of course Pokémon Sun and Moon, among others. Perhaps we’ll even hear about some new, previously unannounced upcoming titles.

Be sure to check back for all the news and tidbits on Thursday.
