Fans interested in how video games are made might want to make a note of this one: Nintendo and publisher Piggyback are working on a Metroid Prime art book. Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective is being prepped for a summer 2025 launch. This means fans can look forward to concept illustrations, sketches, and designs from Metroid Prime Remastered, Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (no word on Metroid Prime Hunters, sadly). Here’s the announcement, which Piggyyback made via its X account:
Pumped to reveal our first art book, in collaboration with Nintendo. METROID PRIME 1–3: A VISUAL RETROSPECTIVE celebrates the art of the series covering MP1–3 & Remastered with exclusive insights from the game developers. Coming summer 2025. https://t.co/Caa6aO2aga pic.twitter.com/nn0Skj7aq8

The book will be 212 pages printed on high-quality art paper and comes with a gorgeous etched foil cover. It will sell with an MSRP of $49.99. Metroid Prime 1-3: A Visual Retrospective was made with contributions from both Nintendo and Retro Studios, with commentary (and a foreward) by producer Kensuke Tanabe and other members of the staff at Retro. Piggyback might be familiar to fans of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, as they worked with Nintendo to create the official strategy guides for both of those games. It seems that Nintendo is spreading its wings a bit with this project, which we here at Nintendojo wholeheartedly support.
