Nintendo is now accepting registrations for its Nintendo Account service, with pre-registration for Miitomo, the developer’s first major mobile app, also available in select countries.

The Nintendo Account will allow users to easily register their accounts through Nintendo’s own systems, via email or through social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.

The account system will allow users to directly purchase digital downloads on the spot, set up member profiles, play records, and receive notifications and gifts. The service also features a points system, details of which were shared during a recent investor meeting.

Once registered, you will be taken to your profile which currently lists information about yourself, your location, and any accounts which you have linked to your Nintendo Account. While there doesn’t appear to be anything else that you can do with the account at this moment, we expect Nintendo to reveal more information about the service in the near future.

Have you signed up for a Nintendo Account yet? Is this the start of a new age for Nintendo? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Not signed up yet. Don’t use “smartphones”, so wondering about the PC thing and why I would need that. Not on facebook, twitter, google+ or anything else. Have to wait and see the details of what they are planning here. I’m more interested in the NX and some games that will get Nintendo back in true form.
