Tomorrow, Nintendo fans around the world will battle it out in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the latest entry in Nintendo’s beloved fighting game franchise. This time around, the Inklings have joined the battle, duking it out with some of Nintendo’s greatest heroes and villains. Next weekend, however, Splatoon 2 players will have a brawl of their own when they’re forced to choose between siding with those aforementioned heroes or villains!
The Splatfest certainly works on a number of levels. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has added some major new villains to the mix this time around, and it remains to be seen which side the Inklings themselves fall on. After all, there has been a lot of debate since the original Splatoon arrived on Wii U regarding whether or not the Inklings are actually the heroes or villains in the game’s narrative. It looks like this latest Splatfest will help to further that debate!
