In news that’ll come as a surprise to absolutely no one (well, at least no one who owns a 3DS), any game demos downloaded through the Wii U eShop can only be played a certain number of times before they expire.
Like Nintendo’s portable console, Wii U demos are subject to a hard play count, after which they will no longer be playable, even if you delete and re-download them. According to Nintendo, these limits are set by their respective publishers: “Each publisher has the opportunity to decide how long demos will stay on the eShop, and how many times consumers can play them before they expire.”
This news comes in just as demos for Rayman Legends and Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed hit the service. Will these play restrictions deter you from downloading them? Let us know in the comments!
