Kirby and the Forgotten Land was unveiled during the Nintendo Direct broadcast back in September of 2021. The first trailer showed off an overgrown, wild world that Kirby would be able to explore in 3D, but beyond that not much was known about the game other than that it would be launching in spring of this year. Now, Nintendo has pulled the curtain back a bit further and shown off much more about Forgotten Land, including the return of co-op, a series staple:

In this latest adventure, Kirby finds himself in a strange new world where evidence of a mysterious past civilization surround him. Waddle Dees are being abducted by a group called the Beast Pack and Kirby, aided by new ally Elfilin, must set out to free as many of them as possible in each of the game’s numerous stages. Along the way he’ll employ his usual repertoire of powers, but he’ll also be utilizing new ones as well, including the Drill and Ranger copy abilities.

Rescuing Waddle Dees comes with the added benefit of building an entire town with them as the residents. Waddle Dee Town will grow and evolve the more of these affable frienemies are accumulated. If you’re wondering about Bandana Waddle Dee and his role in Forgotten Land, he will be around as part of the aforementioned co-op in the game. Kirby and the Forgotten Land will come to Nintendo Switch on March 25—let us know how pumped you are for this down in the comments!
