Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order had a big cast of heroes right from the start, but the developers promised that the roster would only get bigger with both free and paid editions, the latter coming thanks to the game’s Expansion Pass. Well, the first of three new character packs is here for those who dropped money for more DLC, plus there’s even a little something extra for free.
Marvel Knights: Curse of the Vampire is the first Expansion Pass DLC and, as the title suggests, focuses on the darker corner of the Marvel universe. Players now get their hands on two legit vampires, Blade and Morbius, as well as Moon Knight, a more traditional super hero who just so happens to get his powers from an Egyptian god… so, pretty standard stuff, really. Of course, the biggest name attached to this update is The Punisher, a man who has no super power beyond his desire to ruthlessly murder every evildoer he can. The DLC also adds a new mode, Gauntlet, which is all about taking on waves of new challenges.
As for the free content, everyone who owns the game can expect new costumes for Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, and Captain America. Players will also be able to revisit the story mode with a new Nightmare difficulty if they want an extra challenge.
Of course, there are two more paid DLC packs on the way, but we don’t know too much yet besides that one will focus on new X-Men content, while the other will be rooted in the Fantastic Four. As for who will be included and when it will come out, we’ll have to wait and see.
