Nintendo fans that also like to collect toys have had a lot to celebrate over the last few years. Between the Amiibo line, Jakks Pacific’s World of Nintendo series and even Happy Meals, Nintendo merchandise seems to be everywhere, these days. A pair of new toys were revealed today, and they should certainly excite fans of the company!
First out of the gate is Nintendo’s new Wolf O’Donnell Amiibo. Last month at E3, Nintendo finally pulled back the curtain on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Alongside the title, the company showed off a pair of Amiibo based on newcomers to the game: Ridley and an Inkling Girl. Nintendo also pledged that returning characters that weren’t in the previous game in the franchise will also receive figures, as well. Wolf O’Donnell, leader of Star Wolf, is the first Amiibo we’ve seen for a returning character, and his Amiibo will release alongside Ridley, Inkling Girl and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on December 7.
Today’s other big toy reveal is a Funko Pop vinyl figure of Pikachu! Funko has released a number of Funko Pops based on video games, but Pikachu is the first Pokémon Pop ever. The item will be a Target exclusive, and no release date has been revealed at this time.
