Over the weekend, an interesting new video debuted for Pokkén Tournament, the Pokémon arcade game set to appear next year on Wii U. The video shows off a new fighter in the game, and it appears to be a brand new form for Mewtwo!
Mewtwo already has two different mega evolutions (one in Pokémon X, the other in Y), but this looks unlike anything we’ve seen thus far. While it’s entirely possible that this Mewtwo variation is exclusive to Pokkén Tournament, that would be a first for a Pokémon spin-off game. Instead, this would seem to lend a little more credence to the rumors that have been swirling over the past few weeks that Pokémon Z will soon be revealed for Nintendo 3DS. Pokémon X and Y haven’t had a third version yet, and the new Pokémon anime in Japan is entitled Pokémon X, Y & Z, leading many to speculate that a new game will likely be revealed sometime in the near future. This could very well be our first look at Mega Mewtwo Z!
Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information on Pokkén Tournament, not to mention Pokémon Z, as it becomes available!
