Next month, Disney Infinity 3.0 will bring the worlds of Star Wars together with the worlds of Disney and Marvel. At this weekend’s Disney Interactive Presentation, the company announced some new details regarding the title, as well as more new characters fans can expect to find on store shelves in the near future.
The latest batch of announced figures are Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Mulan, Peter Pan, Olaf (Frozen), Sam Flynn and Quorra (Tron), Judy and Nick (Zootopia), and Spot (The Good Dinosaur). The latter two films will also receive a number of related Power Discs released to coincide with their theatrical debuts. Speaking of Power Discs, attendees at the event were given an extremely exclusive Disc that will enable Mickey Mouse to take on his King Mickey appearance from the Kingdom Hearts franchise. The item will not be sold at retail. Sora’s Keyblade will also be unlockable in the game. It will be slightly easier to obtain, but not by much! The sword will only be available to those who unlock all of the characters in the game’s Hall of Heroes.
A special set of Star Wars Light FX figures was also announced, featuring lightsabers that light up when placed on the Disney Infinity base. Those particular figures will include Yoda, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader and Kanan Jarrus from the Star Wars Rebels cartoon. The figures don’t seem to have any other differences from the versions that are scheduled for release next month, but it is a neat little feature that’s sure to excite Star Wars fans! The Star Wars Light FX line is expected on store shelves this holiday season.
Finally, Disney Interactive announced Marvel Battlegrounds, the first Disney Infinity playset to feature four-person multiplayer. Little information regarding the playset was released, but the previously announced Ultron and Hulkbuster Iron Man figures will reportedly play a major role. That particular set is currently scheduled for release in the spring of 2016.
