With the release date of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 quickly approaching, more details are starting to emerge. Activision and developer Beenox have released a new trailer, showcasing one of Spider-Man’s oldest rivals. The video is the first confirmation we’ve received of the Kingpin’s role in the title and also gives additional focus to previously announced characters Kraven the Hunter, the Green Goblin, and the Black Cat. Spider-Man fans should be quite familiar with the Kingpin. In addition to his role as a recurring villain in the comics, the Kingpin appeared in several episodes of the 1990’s Spider-Man cartoon. While The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is loosely based on the film of the same name, the Kingpin, Kraven, and the Black Cat all appear to be exclusive to the video game. However, considering that two of the previous game‘s exclusive villains, the Rhino and Alistair Smythe, are both set to appear in the upcoming film, perhaps we’ll see some of these characters show up in the next movie.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings on to Wii U and Nintendo 3DS on April 29. Stay tuned to Nintendojo where we’ll have more coverage on the title in the coming weeks.
