Over the last year or so, Pokémon fans have been treated to some very cool early artwork, depicting the roots of the franchise. The Japanese TV channel NHK has now released some new (old) “Capsule Monsters” concept art, depicting some unused Pokémon as well as some very different takes on familiar faces!
It’s certainly a great treat for fans of the franchise to see some of this early art. Unfortunately, the video game industry has never been the best at preserving its own history, and early concept art has all too often been lost or destroyed over time. With so much early Pokémon art seemingly preserved (and thus far unseen), it would be nice to get an art book collecting all of it in one place!
