Talk about a surprise announcement: WB Games and Daybreak Game Company’s DC Universe Online is coming to Nintendo Switch. The game originally launched on PlayStation 3 (as a system exclusive!) back in 2011. Here’s the announcement trailer for your viewing pleasure:
While it’s exciting to see DC Universe Online straying from the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC ecosystems, there is one major caveat. According to Daybreak, the game will not be supporting cross-platform play, which is a bit of a letdown. Daybreak asserts that Nintendo players won’t be “in a book all to itself” due to this separation, but it’s hard to imagine how they won’t be, given this restriction. Nonetheless, with over eight million Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, there should be hope for an immersive, connected experience.
There’s no firm launch date just yet for DC Universe Online, but stay tuned to Nintendojo for all the details!
