Mario-Themed Splatfest Coming to Splatoon 2 In January ’21

Mario’s 35^th anniversary is getting all the pomp and circumstance it deserves; so much so that it’s even extending into unrelated games! Splatoon 2 will be playing host to a special Splatfest in January 2021 that asks fans to settle the score: which power-up would you prefer? Super Mushrooms or Super Stars?

Splatoon is like the band KISS in that every time it seems the last tour is upon fans, there’s another farewell! Not that anyone is complaining about more Splatfest fun, of course. As if this isn’t enough to be excited back, heading to the official Nintendo of America storefront on the company’s website will reveal a couple of t-shirts for sale. There will also be special key chains that fans can earn in real life via the MyNintendo program, but details on that promotion are currently mum.
