While seemingly every property has its share of passionate fans, there’s something to be said for devotees of Nintendo. The company’s works have been inspiring players since the 80s, and there’s some really cool artistry to be found throughout the fan community. Musician Helynt’s latest album, Mario & Chill, evokes the debut decade of Nintendo’s beloved plumber with a soundtrack full of covers of Mario tunes that lean heavily on the use of the synthesizer. The results are really impressive, and fans would do well to give it a listen!
The 80s influence is intentional, but Mario & Chill features tracks that debuted a little more recently. With 12 tracks from games such as Super Mario World, Mario Kart 7 and Bowser’s Inside Story, Helynt has truly covered a strong range of music. There’s even a great cover of Dry, Dry Docks, one of my personal favorite Mario songs!
Mario & Chill is available digitally on a plethora of platforms, including iTunes, Pandora, Apple Music and more.
