For those of us that collect Amiibo, displaying them is half the fun of collecting them, but most are generally content with featuring them on a bookshelf or in a display case. Not CaliburLord K, a YouTuber who has spent the last two years creating an incredible, interactive shelf for his Amiibo:

As shown in the video above, the shelf has the ability to recognize which Amiibo is placed on the display stand on the top of the shelf; when the Amiibo is placed, the proper sound file of the announcer fromĀ Super Smash Bros. for Wii U saying that character’s name can be heard, followed by their respective victory song from the end of a match and then by one of the in-game songs from that character’s franchise.

The shelf was built from scratch, sanded, stained, and equipped with vibrant, color-changing lights, and was inspired by a tutorial by YouTuber ModusPwnin on how to build an interactive Amiibo gadget.

This is an impressive project not only technically speaking, but in how much patience and care went into it. It’s also really great to see someone putting effort into something they’re passionate about, especially when it’s Nintendo-related!
