During the Nintendo Direct this evening, Level-5 announced the release of Inazuma Eleven in North America, which is now available to download as a 3DS eShop exclusive game for $20.
Inazuma Eleven is truly a unique title, as it features a ridiculous mix of anime, soccer, and JRPG elements within its core gameplay. Players will be able to craft a team from a selection of 1,000 different recruits, train each one individually, and use them to compete in tactical soccer matches. There’s also a fully fleshed out storyline, which is told as players progress through each of game’s various quests.
Previously, the Inazuma Eleven series was only available in Japan and Europe due to the low popularity of soccer in America. However, after years of US fans pleading for localization, it’s finally here! This also marks the first time that the original Inazuma Eleven is available on 3DS in Europe, as its initial release was launched on DS.
Personally, I’m ecstatic about this news! Inazuma Eleven was a game that I really wanted to be localized, so I picked it up in a heartbeat. Are you excited about the news as well? Sound off in the comments below!

Literally just over the weekend, I was telling friends of mine that because of this game I might get into real Soccer this year primarily because I really don’t have a sport to watch anymore other than the St Louis Cardinals and baseball.
