During its Vision Event 2016, Level-5 has announced an all-new media property called Megaton Musashi. The new sci-fi series will have an anime, toy line, and a game for Nintendo 3DS coming in summer 2017.
The year is 2118, and invaders from outer space called Dorakuta have destroyed the planet Earth and have eliminated most of humanity. What remains of the the husk of the planet is now a nest for the aliens. The protagonists pilot giant machines called Musashi to combat the Dorakuta. The memories of mankind’s fate have been erased from the minds of the remaining humans, who were evacuated to a safe place during the invasion. The main characters are the special few whose memories of the truth remain intact.
Concepts of the 3DS game for Megaton Musashi shown seem to indicate it will be a mech-based action-RPG. The full short anime that unveils the story is available in the video above. Well, it’s in Japanese so just look at the robots and stuff if you can’t speak the language. Check out Level-5’s full website right over here.
