The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has revealed that remakes of Langrisser I and II are making their way to Switch.
For those who aren’t familiar with the series, Langrisser is a tactical RPG series which has been around since 1991, when the first entry released on the Sega Genesis (aka the Megadrive here in Europe).
The upcoming Switch versions of Langrisser I and II, meanwhile, are being re-designed from the ground up and will include updated character designs, fully voiced scenarios and optimized systems and UI. There are also a number of new elements not included in the original games which haven’t been detailed yet.
Chara-Ani is apparently responsible for the production of the remakes and they are apparently around 50% complete at this time. Of course, we won’t have long to wait for a further update, as an announcement event is planned for August 29.
Langrisser I and II are currently planned for both Nintendo Switch and PS4, with a release date yet to be announced.
