I’ll admit that I’m being a bit self-indulgent with this article. I grew up watching the exploits of Kenan Thompson and his frequent costar Kel Mitchell on Nickelodeon. Many afternoons and evenings were spent at my grandma’s house laughing at All That, Kenan & Kel, and the Good Burger movie (which has a sequel coming out, just FYI). So it was with a big grin (and feeling slightly choked up looking at Kenan Thompson now at 45—time flies, dear readers) when I woke up this morning to find the following ad on Nintendo of America’s YouTube channel:
The roughly two minute ad features Kenan and his daughters Georgia and Gianna spending the day playing various Nintendo games, including The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Mario Party Superstars. I have a strong feeling that Kenan is probably a gamer, given our proximity in ages—and he looks absolutely at home with a controller in his hands. It’s a cute little video and one that got me all up in my feelings.
Let us know what you thought of the video and why it’s a crying shame they couldn’t get Kel in there, if only for a moment!
