With August now upon us, Game Freak and The Pokémon Company have announced the latest legendary Pokémon giveaway! Players that wish to acquire Groudon or Kyogre, the legendary stars of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, will want to check out participating GameStop locations starting today!
Players with a copy of Pokémon Sun or Ultra Sun will receive Kyogre at either Level 60 (Sun) or Level 100 (Ultra Sun). Regardless of version, the Pokémon will come holding a Gold Bottle Cap and boast the moves Origin Pulse, Calm Mind and Ice Beam. In Sun, Kyogre will also have the move Muddy Water, while the higher level Kyogre in Ultra Sun will know Water Spout. Players with a copy of Moon or Ultra Moon will find their code unlocks Groudon at Level 60 (Moon) or Level 100 (Ultra Moon). In both versions, Groudon will come with a Gold Bottle Cap, as well as the move Precipice Blades. In Moon, Groudon will also know Earthquake, Bulk Up and Solar Beam, while the higher level version in Ultra Sun will know Earth Power, Fire Punch and Swords Dance.
As they have with previous legendary releases, the developers at Game Freak released a video detailing the creation of the two legendary characters.
The promotion will run through August 26.
