We live in a world where the thought of sharing your information online can be somewhat foreboding. Whether it’s government surveillance or corporate data breaches, many people don’t feel safe when it comes letting others see their personal data. Nintendo might not be asking for all of your vital statistics, but the company still wants to reward you for your willingness to let it look at how you play the game.
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer asks players to share their data with Nintendo, and agreeing will net you a free car in the game. While you can’t drive around the Animal Crossing world like a crazy person/animal-thing, it does serve as a unique decorative item that it seems you can’t get otherwise. And should you change your mind and turn off data sharing, you still get to keep the car.

Seeing how unlikely it is that Nintendo is sharing your gameplay data with the CIA, I personally wouldn’t have any problem sharing some info. Then again, I would probably do pretty much anything for a free car.
