The muscles, the sword, the hair—who could ever forget Mattel’s beloved He-Man? An ’80s cartoon icon, He-Man continues to pop up here and there in different forms of media, but this time around he’s returning in the form of an arcade-style beat ’em up called He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction, courtesy of Limited Run Games and Bitmap Bureau. Take a look:

Here’s what LRG has to say about the game:

Inspired by the iconic ‘80s cartoon, HeMan and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction allows players to take control of Eternia’s beloved heroes, including HeMan, Teela, Man-At-Arms, and more, to battle Skeletor and Evil-Lyn and save Eternia from plunging into darkness.

Fight through over 12 action-packed levels using character-specific moves, abilities, and power-ups to stop Skeletor’s ancient ritual that threatens to take over Eternia. Battle Cat, HeMan’s fearless feline companion, also joins the fray, battling on the side of justice with his claws unsheathed.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction “is one of the exciting ways we’re bringing Mattel’s brands to life through digital games,” according to Head of Business Development, Digital Games at Mattel, Erika Winterholler. “It’s a love letter to those who grew up with HeMan, combining nostalgic visuals with fast-paced, modern gameplay. Our goal is to honor the franchise’s legacy while introducing it to a new generation of players.”

With LRG involved, odds are good there will be an insane collector’s edition with a physical copy of the game and some kind of toys/figurines/collectibles, but it has yet to be announced. Right now there’s a nebulous “early 2026” release window in place. Once we learn more, we’ll share it with all of you.
