Fire Emblem Fates Sells 300K Copies

Fire Emblem Awakening was the best-selling installment of the series, but at this early stage of Fire Emblem Fates’ time on store shelves, it has become the fastest-selling installment in the United States. 300,000 copies of the game were sold over its first three days at retail. The sales numbers are comprised of both versions of the game, though Birthright is slightly outselling Conquest at this point.

It’s a good sign for the franchise, considering that it wasn’t all that long ago that Fire Emblem Awakening was being viewed internally as the potential final game in the series if it didn’t sell well. Fates appears to be doing quite well for itself, and Nintendo believes the game will be the first of a handful of titles that will keep the momentum for 3DS going strong.
