DrinkBox Studios, developer of Guacamelee, has announced a new indie title headed to Wii U and 3DS. In Severed, players will take on the role of Sasha, a one-armed protagonist in search of her family. On her quest, Sasha will encounter a number of nightmarish creatures, which players will battle through the use of the game’s touchscreen. The game also offers up a number of RPG-inspired elements, including character and weapon upgrades. We’ve embedded the title’s trailer below!

Originally a PlayStation Vita exclusive, Severed released to strong reviews earlier this year. Critics praised the title’s combat, though the actual portability seemed to be its biggest issue. The jump to Wii U could potentially resolve that problem, making it the definitive version. The title will support cross-buy between Wii U and 3DS, so players will have an opportunity to judge for themselves this summer.
