Last week, The Pokémon Company pulled back the curtain on Pokémon Sword and Shield, the latest mainline titles in the RPG franchise. As a result, today’s E3 Direct presentation didn’t offer a whole lot of new information about the games, but there were a couple of interesting new tidbits!
Last year’s release of Pokémon: Let’s Go was accompanied by the Poké Ball Plus, a controller that doubled as a device players could use to take their Pokémon on the go. The Poké Ball Plus cannot be used as a controller in Sword and Shield, but it can be used to travel with Pokémon once again. What’s more, those who purchase the accessory new can still use it as a means of bringing Mew into Sword or Shield.
The day also saw the reveal of a new Water-type Gym Leader, Nessa. E3 Attendees can battle Nessa in the Sword and Shield demo on the show floor. The demo has also revealed two new Pokémon: Yamper and Impidimp. Yamper appears to be based on a corgi, while Impidimp looks like a more impish take on Sableye.
