Angry Kirby Masthead

So far, Nintendo has used E3 to reveal their plans to bring many of their major characters to Switch, and one of those new games will feature everyone’s favorite pink, enemy eating puffball- Kirby! While not much has been officially said about the game, including the title, a trailer was shown during Nintendo’s presentation, from which some details can likely be gleaned.

First and foremost, Kirby will be a traditional 2D platformer that will once again feature Kirby’s ability to steal his foes powers, much like most games in the franchise. However, the big difference here appears to be that the titular hero can now convert his foes into friends which lets them fight alongside him and combine their powers with his. It looks like Kirby can have up to three allies at a time, and though it hasn’t been confirmed, it very much looks like other players might be able to jump in for cooperative play.

Kirby currently has a relatively vague release date of 2018. Nintendo is live-streaming gameplay and developer interviews from the E3 show floor throughout the week, so hopefully they will set aside some time to reveal more about the title.
