Lollipop Chainsaw RePop is a remaster of the beloved Grasshopper Manufacture action-adventure game that debuted on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2012. The game is getting a remaster, which was at the request of fans who opposed the idea of doing a full remake. Originally, RePop was supposed to launch on September 25, but the release has been moved up a couple of weeks to September 12, 2024. Yoshimi Yasuda, President of Kadokawa Games, made the announcement via X:

It’s going to be interesting to see what changes have come to RePop, specifically if any modern day censoring will have crept into the release. As has been the case with many remasters and remakes of older games, many studios and publishers have become quite censorious of past works, either altering or removing content, or applying trigger warnings that make claims of the original content doing harm, being insensitive, and so on. It’s a trend that most gamers don’t appreciate, but hopes are high that RePop will present the game as it was made without any unneeded changes.
