Late Wednesday night, Nintendo held another Direct presentation, this time focused on the mobile title Dragalia Lost. The new IP is an action-RPG featuring chibi style characters in a brand-new world.
The Mobile Direct focused predominantly on gameplay details, offering no information on specific costs. The title takes place in Alberia, a world where humans and dragons co-exist. Playing as the Prince of Alberia, players will form bonds with dragons, allowing their characters to actually shapeshift into dragons during combat. Before they can do that, however, they’ll have to prove themselves to each dragon, first!
Players can form a party of four from a pool of more than 60 different playable characters. Each character falls into one of four type classes: Offensive, Defensive, Healing and Support. Characters can be outfitted with different weapons, which can change each character’s particular fighting style. In addition to single player options, all of the game’s modes can be played with four other players. Multiplayer events are also planned.
We certainly know a lot more than we did before tonight’s presentation! The game seems to have a lot of traditional RPG elements, but it will be interesting to see how they translate to the mobile model. Dragalia Lost will be available September 27. We’ll have more details about the game as they develop!
