One of the (many) announcements from E3’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveal was that David Hayter, the original Solid Snake, would be returning to voice the character in the brawler. Now, Konami has announced that he will also be voicing Metal Gear characters in Super Bomberman R.
Super Bomberman R has received a number of post-release guest appearances since it launched on Switch in March 2017 and this latest update introduces Naked Snake Bomber and Solid Snake Bomber as playable characters (voiced by Hayter). It also includes a new Grand Prix Mode, and you can see this and more in the latest trailer below:
It’s particularly interesting that Hayter is back voicing Solid Snake as he was previously replaced by Kiefer Sutherland in 2015’s Metal Gear Solid 5.
While Super Bomberman R was initially criticized for a lack of content, the game has received a steady stream of free updates since release and it’s fair to say that the problem has since been addressed. The Metal Gear characters will be available as part of the free upcoming patch.
Is David Hayter enough to tempt you back to Super Bomberman R?
