Since being released on 3DS, SteamWorld Dig has received plenty of much deserved acclaim, including a spot on our list of the best indie games on eShop, but there are still plenty of folks who have yet to experience it. If you happen to be one of those people, or perhaps you want to see the game in HD, then rejoice, because SteamWorld Dig will be releasing on Wii U on August 28.
Along with all the expected visual upgrades, this version also promises other additions to take advantage of the Wii U’s unique feature set. Screen and button layouts can be customized to move more of the interface to the GamePad, or you can also play with the Pro Controller as well. Of course, the game also supports off-TV play to move the whole experience to the GamePad. Furthermore, the game also has your back should you hail from strange, far flung lands or have simply tired of English as you change the language to French, Italian, German, Spanish, or Russian. Developer Image & Form has also teased, “maybe there’s an Easter Egg somewhere?”
Oh, and for those who care about these sorts of things: yes, it runs at 1080p, 60 frames per second.
Finally, all this can be yours for $9.99, €8.99, or £6.99 based on those aforementioned far flung lands.
