Back in the day, all Pokémon trainers had a tendency to look the same. The last few entries in the series changed that, with a number of clothing options that could be found or purchased in-game to give each character their own unique look. It would appear that the latest games in the series, Pokémon Sword and Shield, will follow in that trend!
The news was essentially confirmed thanks to a t-shirt design contest held through Uniqlo and The Pokémon Company. The contest was held exclusively in Japan, and a grand prize winner has been selected. The winner’s design will be sold by Uniqlo, but it will also appear as an in-game clothing item in Sword and Shield! The shirt, which features Gyarados and a trio of Magikarp, can be seen in the picture from Coro Coro below!
The next issue of Coro Coro will apparently detail much more about Pokémon Sword and Shield, though E3 will also likely provide an ample amount of new information, as well. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more as it develops!
