The veritable onslaught of Limited Run Games releases can sometimes be overwhelming, but when something this special comes along a moment of pause is required. Konami used to be a powerhouse developer, but in recent times the company has become a shell of itself. While the wait for a new Castlevania game has been interminable, fans were at least thrown a bone in the form of the delectable Castlevania Anniversary Collection which launched a couple of years ago. The compilation contains the following games:
- Castlevania
- Castlevania II Simon’s Quest
- Castlevania III Dracula’s Curse
- Super Castlevania IV
- Castlevania The Adventure
- Castlevania II Belmont’s Revenge
- Castlevania Bloodlines
- Kid Dracula
Not bad, eh? Up until now, however, Castlevania Anniversary Collection has only been available via the eShop. This is where LRG comes in:

Pretty awesome stuff here for a fanbase that has overall been neglected for quite some time. Maybe if this sells well enough it will get Konami to work on a new Castlevania installment? Who knows, but if nothing else this will be quite the addition to any fan’s collection. The pre-order window opens on May 14 and will run for an extended six-week period (usually it’s four).
