Well that didn’t take long. The Castlevania animated series premiered on Netflix July 7, and on the same day it was announced that the series has been renewed for a second season. In addition, Netflix has also increased the number of episodes for the second season from four to eight.
The animated series was written by comic book icon and best-selling author Warren Ellis; it follows the last surviving member of the Belmont family who is fighting to save Eastern Europe from extinction at the hand of Vlad Dracula Tepes. Dracula is voiced by Graham McTavish (The Hobbit, Outlander, Preacher), while Richard Armitage (The Hobbit trilogy) is Trevor Belmont, James Callis (Battlestar Galactica) is Alucard, Emily Swallow (Supernatural) is Lisa, Matt Frewer (Orphan Black) plays The Bishop, Tony Amendola (Annabelle) is The Elder, and Alejandra Reynoso (G.I. Joe: Renegades) plays Sypha Belnades.
Have you watched any of the Castlevania series? If so, what do you think, and are you happy to hear that a second season has been ordered? Or do you think it isn’t worth another season?
