Nintendo and HAL Laboratory have revealed that Box Boy!, the eShop hit of 3015,will be getting a sequel. In fact, this sequel is already available in Japan.

Box Boy: Mou Hito Hako (or Box Boy! One More Box in English) once again stars Qbby, the walking box who creates more boxes. Players must pass through obstacles in order to reach the goal and will use Qbby’s newfound ability to create two boxes at once in doing so. Naturally, such a powerful ability requires suitably challenging levels and Nintendo says that the sequel will be much more difficult this time around.

By collecting medals in the various levels, players will be able to unlock further costumes, music, and comics. Also, anyone with save data from the original Box Boy! will be able to carry that over to the sequel to unlock additional costumes.

The original Box Boy! was well received on its release. In fact, we liked it so much that it was recently awarded our 3DS eShop best game of 2015.

There is no word yet on a Western release date for Box Boy: Mou Hito Hako , so stay tuned for further updates. Meanwhile, for those of you in Japan, Box Boy: Mou Hito Hako is available now on the Japaneses eShop for 680 yen.
